SOLARBEAM KINGDOM

LONDON, GALLERY & ARCHIVE

Solarbeam Kingdom is an artist-led space in London Fields housing a by-appointment archive showroom, art gallery, and studio. What began as Kang's personal clothing collection — assembled for her own research and inspiration — has grown into a living archive available for rental and occasional sale, and a platform for collaborative cultural exchange.

The Kingdom is rooted in a commitment to platforming Asian diaspora artists and creatives, bringing together fashion archives, immersive artistic programming, and a community of collectors and cultural practitioners. It functions less as a traditional gallery and more as a gateway — a space where objects, ideas, and people move through each other.

For Kang, the space is inseparable from her practice. Surrounded by rare garments, fibres, and textiles from across time and culture, the archive is a constant source of material and conceptual inspiration — feeding directly into her sculpture, installation, and textile work.
