SOLARBEAM HONG KONG
HONG KONG, 2025
Solarbeam Kingdom Hong Kong was an exhibition curated and produced by Kang, held in December 2025 in Central, Hong Kong. The show presented a site-specific installation by Alice of Dirty Teddy Gallery, situated in the kitchen of a donut shop — an unexpected space that shaped the work as much as the work shaped the space.
Alice approaches clothing as both material and medium, presenting meticulously constructed one-off garments that foreground individuality and the narrative embedded within the making process. By situating her work within an exhibition context, Solarbeam Kingdom Hong Kong sought to challenge the idea of clothing as disposable trend cycle — reframing it instead as an object of craft, history, and personal expression.
